Dear George and Steve,

Thank you for the information. My question was based on a one-time
requirement to have single-sided embossing for the entire document. And
that's not a norm here! 

We overcame the problem by adjusting the physical pages of the brf file
with the "search and replace" feature. But if something similar to the
"running header" code is available, it would be very useful to enable and
disable single-sided embossing within a lengthy document.
