Tom,

Ann's suggestion is a good one, and probably the simplest solution. However, if you want to use the List style, you need to know what's causing your problem. If you go to Document\Modify Styles and select List, you'll see all the actual codes that are used to make that style. Your problem is being caused by the block protect codes [kps] and [kpe], which try to keep the entire list on one page. Of course, this isn't always possible, so block protect does the next best thing: it forces a page break at the top of the list. You can solve your problem by removing those two codes from the style, and saving the new improved style as part of a template which can then be set as your default template, which will eliminate the problem. As you can see, Ann's solution is easier, but I thought you and she might want to know what is causing the problem.

Does anyone know a way around a problem I often have with applying the list style to a document. I will list an entire document such as a numbered test and when I translate it will force new pages or big spaces between the text. When I try to backspace it back up, it will either not move the text up or it will move it up and remove the list format.
