I TAKE OFFENCE To YOUR SARCASM.

In Lisa's message, she writes, "If anyone haven't explored my web site
that I have been developing over the last few months, check it out.
I look forward to everyone's responses." Which to me says that she is
looking for all types of feedback. Why should I tell Lisa that she has
an excellent Web site when, in my opinion, it was not accessible.

You obviously only took the bad from the message to insight a flame war.
In case you have forgotten, I started by congratulating Lisa on her
achievement. Then I wrote about her Web page. Lastly I made a
suggestion on how she could improve her Web page.
So, it was just not criticism without a suggestion on how to make it
better.

"How very encouraging." indeed. Why not read the entire message for the
full message. If Lisa is only look for praise and complements then I
apologize for miss reading her original post. However, that is not how I
read it, and I think that my feedback is as valuable as the next
persons.

Flame wars are never well received on a list, so before you get started
on this one, put your torch away.

        Lisa,

        Congratulations on your certification.

My impressions of your Web site are:
I think you have missed the boat on your Web site. I just went
to your Web site and left right away. You have made your Web site not
appealing for screen reader visitors by having your Web page play music
when you first open it. The music interferes with listening to the
screen. I for one will not stay at a Web site that plays audio without
my first requesting it, while I am browsing it. I come to the Web sites
to find information. If it is music I am looking for, then let me find
what I am looking for and give me the choice of listening to it.

I suggest that you check out the World Wide Web Consortium on
Web Accessibility, the W3C will provide you with all that you need to
know on making an accessible Web Site.

I find it somewhat ironic that you are working towards
graduating in the Braille Program at your college, meaning that you are
wanting to help in the field of accessibility, but you don't extend the
concept of accessibility to your Web site.

                        Hi everyone,

I am sending out a notice to everyone to inform
you that I have
submitted my trial manuscript to the Library of
Congress for NLS
                        certification in Literary Braille Transcription.
It was sent out in
March 16, 2004. After waiting for almost 2
months, I decided to call
NLS to find out the status of my manuscript. As
of May 12, 2004, I
passed the test with a score of 90 out of 100
which is a passing grade
for certification in Braille Transcription. I am
very thankful that I
have achieved this goal. The next step is to
complete the rest of the
Braille program and graduate as being the
pioneer in the Braille program
at Noarthwest Vista College. If anyone haven't
explored my web site
that I have been developing over the last few
months, check it out.

I look forward to everyone's responses.
