My previous message might not have helped you, but I hope it did. I also have
trouble with that spare line, but I’ve just been dropping to first line and
backspacing but I’m positive you could do it from the Alt F3 page. I’m sorry
I’m also giving you instructions from a sighted transcriber.

Hello,
Would someone please help me with a running head? I am trying to start a
running head on page 2 of the main body.
I found the following instructions:
Creating a running head — In order to create a running head, select “Layout:
Header...” from the menu. You can tell DBT Whether the header should go on
all pages, even or odd pages. By selecting “None”, you can tell DBT to turn
off an existing header. Note that there should be no running head on the
title page or the first print page after the preliminary pages. In order to
do this, you must place the header after the first word of the page before
the page the header should start on.
When I do this on the 1st page of the main body, the running head does appear
on future pages. However, it seriously messes up the first line of the main
body page 1. It also automatically inserts an unwanted blank line after the
running head on all following pages.
I'm a new user, so please forgive my lack of experience here! TIA for any
help anyone can provide!
Sincerely,
Cecelia
