Hi Paul, May I suggest that first of all, power off the Index embosser, and disconnect the cable connecting it to the computer. Power on the embosser, and after it has spoken its announcement, press the Index Help once. This should emboss legible braille for the first few pages. If this does not work as expected, I suggest you call Sighted Electronics or your local Index dealer.
