Does anyone know if MathType is accessible with Jaws? I'm guessing not, but
hoping yes.

A few more comments that I hope are helpful.

The current shipping version of DBT WIN is 10.7.
The newer the version the more correct you will find the importation of
Scientific Notebook files, etc.

In addition to Susan's comments . . .
When working with WORD, or Scientific Notebook you SAVE the file then open
it in DBT WIN. You do NOT cut & paste it into DBT WIN.

In MS WORD
You can use the math codes built into the BANA Braille 2008 (or the earlier)
Template. Fro more help using this please see the HELP>HELP TOPICS>WORKING
with WORD sections in the DBT WIN help system.

With DBT WIN in a BRAILLE DOCUMENT, you can always six-key in and you can
enter dropped (Nemeth) numbers directly by using the number pad (if num-loc
is on) or the number keys above the letters.

With DBT WIN 10.7:
You can do your math in MathType in Word.
Save the Word file.
Open the Word file in DBT WIN 10.7.
Translate to braille.
Proof read, edit, emboss.

With DBT 10.4 and later:
You can do the work in Scientific Notebook.
Save the SN file.
Open the SN file in DBT WIN 10.7.
Translate to braille.
Proof read, edit, emboss.

With DBT WIN 10.4 and later:
You can do your math in DBT WIN.
Create a new PRINT file.
You will want to be in coded view (ALT+F3) to see the codes
Declare it to be Nemeth (ALT+L, M for Math Codes, ENTER technical context)
I declare equations by: ALT+L, M, down Arrow once ENTER technical notation)
Translate to braille, proof, edit, and emboss.

Sincerely,
Neal Kuniansky

As I understood this, there is a worksheet already in Dux that just needs to
translate so that the numbers are Nemeth, not literary.

Rather than force-coding every single number into Nemeth or going back and
forth into Word, go to the very top of the Dux PRINT version, and enter the
code [tcs]. Then translate, and every single number in the document will be
Nemeth. Unfortunately, that applies to page numbers, too, which have to be
dealt with separately.
