Hi Keren, What version of PowerPoint? I'm using Office 2007 below, but the following should work in Office 2003. I've found four ways of doing this. 1) In Word, Ctrl + Shift + Space will give you a non-breaking space. Type what you want in Word and then copy and paste into PowerPoint. 2) In Word, type 00a0, then immediate press Alt + x. Copy and paste as above. 3) With PowerPoint open call up Windows Character Map. (All Programs: Accessories: System Tools: Character Map) Let's assume you are using Arial font, then you will find the "no-Break Space" 5 to the right of the lower case letter z, immediately left of the upside down exclamation mark. Click on the character (which of course will be blank), click Select, then click Copy, and it will be copied to your clipboard. In PowerPoint, place your cursor where you want the space, and then Ctrl + v to paste it. 4) Also in PowerPoint, try holding down the Alt key, and type 0160 on the number pad. (Will we see you a week this Thursday at the training course?) George. _____________________________________________ From: duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Keren Hedges Sent: 24 March 2008 10:42 To: duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [duxuser] Not exactly correct forum Hi, I know this may not seem the correct forum to ask, but I know you all have such a mountain of knowledge, and it's kind of Duxbury based, in a roundabout way. Part of my presentation touches on the wonders of Duxbury. How do I insert a non-breaking space (hard-space) in a PowerPoint presentation text box? I really don't want instructions like "Alt +2" split over two lines. Many thanks, Take care, Keren No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG.
