Hi Nigel,

To put it plain and simply, this is partly an issue between
hardware manufactures and the software (DBT). Hence the ELT
file is set for recommended maximums.

The bottom line is that we can make all these sing and
dance, but to get there takes a chance - or two!

George.

Hi George,

The limit is set by the ELT file. It is another of the
annoying things about embosser selection in 10.5 that you
cannot overide the default maximums. I have modified the ELT
file for Christine.

        Hi Christine,

You can only get 29 lines on a 12 inch deep page
single-sided, but not when embossing double-sided. The
offset of the second side just won't fit the page.

However, you may be able "fiddle" it, by reducing
the line spacing on the Index itself via the "Braille, Line
Spacing" menu. I believe the default is 10, so try reducing
it down one level.

        George.

I am using an Index Everest embosser model 3. I am
also using DBT10.5.

I wish to produce a page of braille which must be 29
lines deep. I am using 12-inch paper.

I cannot get DBT to accept more than 28 lines to a
page. I have also tried setting my embosser page length to
greater than 12-inch (300mm) but still I cannot get the 29
lines.

I have tried changing the global menu embosser
settings but they will not hold and keep reverting back to
the 28 lines.

I have also tried by causing a formfeed from the
embosser on longer than 12-inch paper but to no avail.

I understand that I must have 29 lines showing in
the document menu and atleast 29 lines showing in the global
menu.

Any help to solve my problem is much needed and will
be greatfully appreciated

        Kind regards
