Hi Ann,

Thanks for that thorough explanation. I just want to add that not all USB
keyboardswill allow one to use Perky Duck on their computer. When I was
enrolled in my grad program, those who didn't have a full version of Duxbury
needed to download Perky Duck to complete their braille course. If I
remember, it was the no thrill type of USB keyboard that one could use. I
have a Dell Inspiron laptop that can handle both the Perky Duck software, as
well as 6 key input through Duxbury. JMO.

Perky Duck is a free Perkins Brailler emulator which is used for preparing
lessons and materials via 6-key entry for certification as a braille
transcriber.

It comes without email or phone support from Duxbury Systems which is how we
are able to offer it for free. That said, braille instructors understand
that they are expected to support their students who are using Perky Duck.

Like DBT, our paid product, Perky Duck is not yet available for the Mac
platform. But, like DBT, Mac users can run the Windows version of Perky Duck
on a Windows emulator.

Perky Duck can be found on our web site www.duxburysystems.com. Select "All
Products" then freeware.
