In a couple of weeks teachers in my region will be training on using Duxbury. Several have asked for information on scanning a preparing materials in Duxbury. Several people use OmniPage or Kurzweil 1000. One person Uses An Open Book and one uses TextBridge. I would like to hear privately from those of you who do a lot of scanning. What do you use? Do you find particular settings in your scanning software package helpful for scanning? What format do you scan into? What do you use to do most of your editing? Have you been successful in automating any of the editing processes through the use of macros? I have had quite a bit of experience with An Open Book. Usually I scan into a Word document and do a lot of the searching and replacing using Word. A lot of times I have to remove lots of extra spaces and carriage returns. Sometimes I find carriage returns In the middle of sentences where one should not exist. Thanks. Rick Boggess -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
