[duxuser] Word Form Fill Fields - WAS: what is this?

Hi All,

As Ann has discovered, DBT is incorrectly picking up the special codes
used in Word which are used to allow users to enter data into a Word
form.

Fixing this in terms of preventing the erroneous code appearing is
relatively easy to fix.

However, the $64,000 question is what, if anything, SHOULD DBT do in
terms of perhaps replacing these fields, or indicating that
information would normally be added at that point?

Does anyone know of any clear guidance or recommendations? Please
bear in mind that this is a question which is in a sense
International, and so we need to hear from a wider area that perhaps
just BANA.

George.

Hi Ann,

These are the Form Fill Fields where users of the forms are supposed
to enter information.

Essentially the Word file is protected in the sense that changes
cannot be made to the text, except that the user can tab between these
fields to enter information.

I have to say that in one sense, at least the creator has learned how
to create a form.

I do not believe however that DBT should be importing in this way
though, so I will request the matter be added to the problem database.

Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

George.

Shouldn't have been. Also, they were hidden in the print document and
appeared in the Braille document.

Ann,
If you are using 10.6, it is probably something like an abbreviation
for chapter #2 Given the context, would that make sense?

If you are using 10.7 the number symbol would be different.
