Thanks, Susan, Yes, I finally gave up and decided that once the volume is proofed and finalized, I'll insert and adjust a manual page number at the exact spot. Thanks for your input. Yeah, I did waste a lot of time trying things out, but nothing worked. It would be nice to be able to set the letter on these occasions. Jean
