Jana,
I’m not sure where you are or who you are transcribing for but in U.S. or
governing body BANA states that dividing a word at the end of the line is now
optional and you can carry the whole word over to the next line. Also, you
should never divide a word between pages. The only real exception is if the
body or person requesting the book insist that the transcription be an exact
copy which is rare.
If you still need the word divided between pages I’m not sure how to help I
have always left it un contracted as by itself it could be misread as something
else.
I hoped I helped.

Subject: [duxuser] contract
I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix the following problem:
you end a print page with say develop- then you have a print page indicator
then the remainder of the word ment (happens if its ing and several others) I
have been transcribing for over 20 years and still can't solve this problem.
Is there any way to code for this? In DBT 10.5 you could just put slashes in
front of the ment (or anything else you needed to contract or uncontract) and
it would contract but I have updated to 11.3rl3 and the slashes no longer work
to force a contraction or not.
Thanks for your help,
Jana
