[duxuser] customised word map

This question is of a technical nature.
I am still using 11.1 SR4 with Word 2010. [Am about to order 11.2]
I have created a new template and decided to use a customised word map, so to
keep the dbt.mws unchanged from the original.
Now I find that I DBT doesn't work when using SWIFT with this template. I can
open a file OK using the new template directly in DBT but not using SWIFT.
SWIFT still works OK using my old template.
The next problem is that now I have attached the customised word map to my new
template, I can't unattach it and go back to the DBT.mws one supplied with DBT.
Is there a way around this, so that I can use my new template using SWIFT?
