Hi Lisette, The paper we're using for the job is thicker than normal printing paper but not quite as thick as Braille paper. Also, we're using a specific type of printer that can take quite thick paper, because we often print business cards and glossy covers. So yes, the same sheet of paper goes through the printer and the embosser, but it's not technically Braille paper. Also, in this particular case it didn't matter if the Braille lined up with the print. The text consists of a heading and a couple of paragraphs giving instructions, and then another sheet with a list of initials and names on it. The print basically has to be there so that the sighted people distributing the papers know what they are and exactly what they say. When we do need to have Braille lined up exactly with print we have a sighted person here who does it and then checks it with a blind reader to make sure the Braille is correct. I don't know the process she uses to get it to line up--I think it depends on what the text is. Hope this answers your questions, Cheers, Nadine. Were you putting braille paper in the ink printer and then putting that same sheet in the embosser? And how *did* you get it to line up. Sounds very fiddly to me. Or is there an official and proper way to do it. Just wondered. Cheers, Nadine. * * * * This message is via list duxuser at freelists.org. * To unsubscribe, send a blank message with * unsubscribe * as the subject to <duxuser-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>.
