Apologies: Lady Jackie McBrearty
A large black cloud hung over the meeting, when we learned from Paul,
that Lady Jackie was not attending today.
In Fact Jackie was working hard on finding solutions to the problems
pertaining to the Bank of Ireland app.
Last week, I omitted some good information from Tom.
He is using Navi Lens, and has got links to the app, and has
downloaded the information, and using this has used this to help him
find places and objects much better.
Also he has sent the relevant links to Albert to get him involved.
Sandy Tomkins has posted a u tube video on Navi lens 360 vision
during the last day or so, and it looks fantastic.
You can get a code on your phone which works like a magnet, and will
bring you to your bus stop for instance.
Tom downloads the paper files from Navi Lens, the paper comes in
various sizes.
You can print off the paper, and cut into whatever size or shape you
want, then one can dictate the description into the QR code for
instance Marmalade and stick on the jar of marmalade, then in future,
your phone will tell you what the jar contains .
Mary has promised to try out the Navi Lens as well and report back to
the meeting.
Well done Tom
Looking to hearing more about Navi Lens from TOM.
Mary has problems in moving from www.audible.co.uk
<http://www.audible.co.uk> to www.audible.com
<http://www.audible.com>
Bert suggested that she go to www.audible.co.uk
<http://www.audible.co.uk> , and click the share button at the bottom
right hand side of the page, and
Select to share to the home screen.
Then do the same for www.audible.com <http://www.audible.com> , and
share this again to your Home screen.
Then its possible to alt + tab between both sites.
This should be done on Safari on the iPhone. . That share button is
found on the bottom right hand side of the safari page.
Michael Brown brought up the thorny problem of accessible electric
reading meters.
It is true that under the Disability acts , it is of course that such
meters should be available to all visually impaired people, but in
Britain, they found problems with the meters.
Here we are looking for a meter which is fully accessible to vip's and
works well. No such meter has been found yet, so visually impaired
will have to wait or bring a case to have such things found and implemented.
Paudi told us of a company here in Ireland rather like Amazon, called
Frugo . It seems that they sell everything like Amazon, but are very
good value as well.
Go to www.frugo .ie <http://www.frugo%20.ie> .
Cearbhall told us of a recent pub crawl in Bandon, Cork.
This on further examination turned out to be a visit to Shandon,
Cearbhall had a senior moment.
They could not find the pub they wanted as the maps used by sound
scape were very old. They
Persisted and did find the pub, and had several glasses of Beamish.
Regards
Paul
