I have the echo dot and the echo show, my nephew gave me the echo Dot the other
day for my birthday. is there any way I can synchronise both devices or do I
just operate them separately and individually? obviously there are in two
different rooms.

Clare.
I've paid between €25 and €116 for my Alexa devices. The dots generally comes
in around €60.
The bulbs and plugs Ken,Paul and I talk about are called smart bulbs and
smart plugs. These can require an app to work and some linkage to the Alexa
app is required for Alexa to discover them. Each plug and bulb are different
so you would just need to follow the instructions.
I contacted be my eyes when I've required such help. There are so many brands
out there the one I use is Tuya and this is the smart plug, which means I
have a lamp or my electric blanket plugged into the smart plug and Alexa when
asked can turn them on and off. I can also control them from the app remotely
and set timers and schedules.
Alexa has allot of benefits and in my opinion they are very useful around the
home for the examples I gave in my first email.

I've started a new thread on your question about Alexa and the Ring
Doorbell. As you used the email with the notification about Saturdays
meeting. This may not get noticed because of the subject line.
Firstly, the fourth generation is the latest Alexa device this does not
have a camera. The echo shows are the one with a screen. They are
constantly talked about on the cork tech club and about what we enjoy using
her for IE audio books for us audible members, listening to music,
listening to radio stations, playing games, spelling words, asking about
the weather, getting the news and loads of other things. There is an Alexa
app that you must download and sign in using your amazon account, logging
in with the amazon account you can link your services like audible and
amazon music to the alexa device.
The ring doorbell can be connected to Alexa and also to an app on your
phone. I do not have this doorbell but I have heard its accessible with
voiceover.
