Apple has today released iOS 12.0.1 to the public.
According to Apple's release notes, iOS 12.0.1 contains the following fixes:
* Fixes an issue where some iPhone XS devices did not immediately
charge when connected to a Lightning cable
* Resolves an issue that could cause iPhone XS devices to rejoin a
Wi-Fi network at 2.4GHz instead of 5GHz
* Restores the original position of the ".?123" key on the iPad
keyboard
* Fixes an issue where subtitles may not appear in some video apps
* Addresses an issue where Bluetooth could become unavailable
As iOS 12.0.1 is a minor release which appears to be meant to fix a small
number of specific issues, it is unlikely that this release will contain any
accessibility-specific changes for blind & low vision users.
iOS 12.0.1 is available via Over-the-Air Update (Settings > General >
Software Update) or via iTunes on a Mac or PC.
Before updating, we strongly recommend making a full and complete backup of
your device (either in iTunes or iCloud, depending on personal preference).
This will ensure that, in the unlikely event that something goes wrong
during the update process, you will have a current backup on hand in case a
device restore becomes necessary. Also, if using OTA update, we recommend
plugging your device into a power source for the duration of the
download/installation process - so as to prevent the unlikely event of your
battery going dead during the update.
