In the meantime, I will be trying to complete my transaction again over the
next few days. I spent a long long time trying to contact A I B yesterday
without success. Pat McCarthy gave me a contact last night to the Group
Customer Advocacy - Head of Vulnerable Customer Programme. She was
interested to learn about my experience but, for practical help, gave me
another dedicated A I B number for older people, people with disabilities
etc: 1800 207232. For us, this is the number to ring and if it rings out
too long, hang up and try again later. They are very helpful and can get
you directly to the area you need within A I B. So, if you are an A I B
customer, take a note of the number

Some comments recently about Bank Notifications concerning recently
introduced verification procedure. A possible work around this which would
work in the situation in which Paul found himself in, would be to use
Revolut. This allows you to transfer founds directly to another persons
Revelout account. The money is in the other account in a matter of seconds.
For example I could purchase an item on my Visa card for another person they
then would transfer the same amount to my Revolut account and I could
transfer that to my Visa at a later stage. Two friends recently did this
one Was in New York, the other in Dublin, and the money was in the others
account before he walked out of the shop in New York. Hope this may help
out someone
