Subject: Welcome to Be My AI! Your Access is Now Active
Hi Adrian!
You just got access to Be My AI (beta). Be My AI is a new Artificial
Intelligence (AI) tool integrated into the Be My Eyes app and powered by
the multi-modal capabilities of the GPT-4 language model from OpenAI.
We hope you will enjoy using and experimenting with it. With this quick
two step guide on getting started with Be My AI, you will be able to get
pictures described by Be My AI in no time.
STEP 1: UPDATE THE APP
Make sure you have installed the latest version of the app from the
Google Play Store [1].
STEP 2: DESCRIBE A PICTURE WITH BE MY AI
Once the latest version of the Be My Eyes app is installed, open the Be
My Eyes app and navigate to the bottom tab bar and go to Be My AI which
is second from the left in the tab bar. Here you can take a picture and
it will immediately be described by Be My AI.
Please note that longer responses take more time to process.
THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND
Our AI pioneers have observed that sometimes AI will tell you some
things are in the picture when they are not, or it will omit things that
are (these are called hallucinations). That's why at this early stage we
urge you to follow a few simple safety guidelines:
* Be My AI is in open beta, which means that there might be hiccups
and things may break. You may still get hallucinations, occasional wrong
answers, and experience some frustrations. But we will be here to fix
the breaks and keep making things better.
* Be My AI uses Artificial Intelligence - be mindful this will not be
100% accurate all the time.
* Be My AI should not be used to cross the street or as a substitute
for a white cane, guide dog, or other mobility device that allows for
safe travel. Put another way, it can help you find where you are going,
but it shouldn't be used to get you there.
* Do not use Be My AI to read prescriptions, to identify potential
allergens, for medical purposes, or in emergencies.
* You should avoid using Be My AI for sensitive personal information.
* In the end, common sense is your best guide. This is new, powerful
technology with great promise and potential, but we are all still
learning how to harness that potential. If something is really
important, double check the AI when you can. If it involves health or
safety, please use a more appropriate tool. Be My AI will still be here
for all of the everyday things that it is really good at, and getting
better.
