Eleanor! The Civic Theatre is adjacent to the Rhua Red where you came (late) to
witness “In The Dark”. The Dunamaise is where you were yesterday when talking
to Marian Murray and the third theatre is in Navan.
Hope you manage to come along to experience a wonderful Sightless Cinema
performance and you might even get to speak to myself and John again…say Hello
to Chris from us

Sightless Cinema returns to The Civic Theatre in Tallaght, after the success of
their Ballymuck Exchange – a telephone comedy in 2021. Close your eyes, if you
dare! Blind Panic is a mixed programme of short thrillers, hauntings and
strange scratching in the cupboard. The immersive surround sound audio plays
are a feast for the imagination – because all the pictures are in your head.
Optional blindfolds are provided to help bring into the world of Sightless
Cinema.
Ash is set in a country lodge guest house during a thunder storm which brings
on strange happenings, and consequences for all the guests.
Horse and No Jockey is a madcap comic mystery, which sees a blind weekend away
go off the rails, as more than the bags get mixed up.
In The Visitor, Laura returns from a horror film at the cinema, to make an
unsettling discovery in the old house she’s just moved into.
The evening will also feature Blind or What? a live radio drama with live
soundscapes performed by a Sightless Cinema Network cast of twenty-six from
three counties, letting you experience the everyday adventures of blind people
making their way through the urban landscape.
Performances:
18 Nov Solstice 7:30pm
23 Nov Civic 7:30pm
28 Nov Dunamais Arts Centre 7:30 p.m.
In its ninth successful year Sightless Cinema is a collaborative arts project
for people with sight loss to devise and produce audio theatre, led by director
Ciarán Taylor.
Sightless Cinema Network is a collaboration between South Dublin, Meath and
Laois County Council Arts Offices, and theatre artist Ciarán Taylor, in
partnership with Solstice Arts Centre, Dunamaise Arts Centre and The Civic
Theatre, with the National Council for the Blind of Ireland.
It is funded by The Arts Council under the Invitation to Collaboration Scheme.
