Hi everyone,
In view of the build-up of avoidance strategies relating to the Corona
Virus, Bert, Paul and I have agreed that it would be best to suspend
physical attendance at the meetings of the Monday Exchange Club until the
virus crisis is past.
If you have missed this notice and arrive on the premises tomorrow, you will
have found the staff of the counselling centre present to facilitate you. In
time, though, I think we should hold our meetings virtually using a decent
discussion app like Zoom so that ten or more can join in the same
conversation if necessary.
Meanwhile, I will be available on phone tomorrow to continue our discussion.
I propose to be linked with Declan or anyone else in the FB-Exchange group
who is present in Fighting Blindness using WhatsApp. I will be able to
include two others in my WhatsApp session. The Cork experience has shown
that an iPhone on the table carrying four WhatsApp participants can hear
another iPhone or iPad running WhatsApp with an additional four participants
and thus a virtual group of 8 participants can have a clear and useful
discussion of all the usual issues. The great thing is that so many of us
are non-visual that the voice-only technique works perfectly well.

If not, then we can experiment during the week in preparation for a full
session on Monday 16th of March.
