Yeah Cearbhall it’s a painful experience it’s not only happening with my
broadband but also to a lesser degree with my mobile data in fairness to
imagine they have been to the house 4 times to sort it and of course it’s all
fine when they leave but in no time it’s back to it’s old tricks. I’ll keep
trying with them if I move I could have the same problem I’m beginning to think
it’s my location

Paul was busy adjusting his newly acquired Microsoft LifeChat

Jackie has been acquiring Echo’s like they were going out of fashion!
Apparently, she needs Echo’s to accompany Echo’s so that now she has 10,
including 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation models, creating surround sound
throughout the house. She will give them all their own wake-up words. Her
enthusiasm was driven by the Black Friday sale offerings from Amazon
including the Fire tablet and a large dose of Ferrero Rocher Chocolates,
the availability of the Kindle 50 and the Echo Show with its screen.
Jackie was delighted to find that the Easy Reader is available now on the
Amazon Fire tablet.
Noreen, reported that when she was admonishing her two boys for not tidying
up, Alexa answered her and frustrated the effort!
Dominique was congratulated on her appearance as the Calendar Girl for the
Irish Guide Dog fund raising campaign.
Noreen is hungry for an Apple Watch and is keen to know if the new small
one is smaller than the previous ones. Dominique thought that they are the
same. Jackie has the Apple 40 watch and assured Noreen that it is not that
big. The watch is stable on the wrist with a choice of two straps. The
Apple 44 would be bulky by comparison and no advantage to a user who cannot
see.
Ken and Dominique use the Apple watch to send text messages, make and
receive phone calls and check the time. Dominique explained that she opens
the Workout app on her Apple Watch. She selects the Outdoor walk option
which tells how far she has walked, her steps per minute and the weather.
The apple watch is able to assist in finding a lost iPhone.
Joanne asked for advice on how to get BorrowBox going on her laptop.
She was advised

(PIN) as provided by the library. The web site will link her to BorrowBox.
She can download the BorrowBox app to her laptop, Android phone or tablet
and sign in to the app once with her library details. After that, she can
access the library at any time without having to sign in every time.
Alternatively, a person can click on the BorrowBox link through the local
library on an internet browser without downloading the app.
Chris was in trouble today with a very poor connection through imagine.
which has been a disaster for connectivity in his area. On the other hand,
Noreen has an excellent service from Imagine and no connection problems.
Chris had to abandon the meeting as the link broke down once too often.
Jackie enjoys her Kindle and was hoping to find some fellow users among the
meeting attendees. Martha said that she cannot make out how to use the
Kindle app. Ken agreed and found it clunky to use and difficult to
understand. When he last tried it, the connection was Unstable and he found
it difficult to download books.
Paul is bursting to use Apple Pay. and asked Ken, Martha and Jackie for
advice. They explained that he could put more than one card on Apple Pay.
To make a payment, he should aim the back camera towards the screen and
make his Thumb verification in the usual way. Martha was pleased to know
that she could ad the Revolut card to Apple Pay.
Martin finds that the Cork Amazon number just rings out and gives no
answer. The advice from the meeting was to ask Alexa to open the Amazon
help section, put in his number and they will call him back.
Ken reported that he succeeded with soft reset on his sister's phone. He
pressed volume up, volume down and finally long pressed the power button.
Jackie reported that when she types in "I have a question" on Facebook,
Voiceover cannot read the responses. She found that using VoiceOver
Recognise revealed the content but could not save the text. The meeting
felt that the responses must be in image form for some reason and various
suggestions were made, including "Seeing-AI" and "Be my eyes" to get the
text from the image.
Ken ordered a powerpack for his iPhone 11. He was surprised to find the
output end of the cable was smaller, being a USB-C connector.
