Pat described a way to save iPhone battery while listening to Kindle books
without using the Alexa device.
Normally need iPhone unlocked to use Kindle app.
With Alexa app, installed on phone asking Alexa to read the book in Kindle
you can lock your phone to save battery life
Jackie explained her experience with the free AIB talking card reader.
She was able to set up a link between her AIB and BOI accounts in a few
minutes by inserting the card for each bank into the reader. The reader then
generated a number and spoke the number digit by digit into a supplied
earpiece which she was then able to report to the AIB bank.
Martha asked how to save a new contact from chat message into her contact
list. She could not find an accessible way to create a new contact. Pat
described a workaround gesture using 3-finger 4ttap to copy selected text.
Ken described using tap and hold to open context menu to save the contact
after double tapping on the caller's name in subsequent screens.
Martha used the seeing AI app to read a printed letter which she then
emailed by sharing the scanned letter with mail.
Noreen asked if anyone used a talking thermometer. She was advised to use
amazon or AppleVis for best choices.
Gavin sought clarification on gestures for copying phone number. Pat
described the process including text selection and edit using gestures and,
alternatively, from the rotor.
Jackie discussed audio description in Netflix and Disney Plus.
The group experienced poor audio in Messenger this week compared to the last
meeting. Because the numbers now exceed eight, it was agreed to use Zoom
next week. Ken and Cearbhall to arrange details with Declan.
