Jackie told us about her new Braille Display. Its the Brailliant 20 and she's
very happy with it. This display has a built in screen reader, it can take an
SD card and a USB drive. Its very easy to connect to a phone or computer.
Jackie did have the Orbit so this is a major up grade from that device. Jackie
is having issues connecting her bookshare account using the Brailliant, its
unclear if the Brailliant just can't take bookshare Ireland accounts or if this
is linked to the issues Jackie is having with her NCBI account to link to the
rebranded Alexa skill. This is the blurb on the Brailliant from the NCBI
website.

A conversation happened around bookshare and the differences between .com and
.org. Book share and connecting the alexa skill is an on going project for
Jackie. however, at this point my eye glazed over and I wanted a gingerbread
man.
Paul has been asked to verify his facebook account. This puzzled us all as
there appeared to be no button to agree to everything. Adrian and Paul shared
screens in Whatsapp and it was discovered that the confirm button was not being
recognised with voiceover. When Adrian discovered this Paul turned off
voiceover and tapped around like his life depended on it and he was able to
access facebook once more. We also spoke how screen recognition would also
locate this button.
Anne-Marie was disappointed with the quality of blind square in the UK and also
in Ireland for naming shops. Anne-Marie also said about how good be my AI is
for reading sandwich boards out side cafe's. so once you walk into it you can
take a photo and read the menu. Anne-marie continued thanking Adrian about
helping on a powerpoint issue. We will not tell Eamonn Ryan what she done with
printing and trees.
Paul brought up the inaccessibility of the Bank of Ireland app. This app is
getting more difficult to use for voiceover users and the Bank doesn't appear
to be addressing the issue, the customer is always blamed and not the
inaccessibility of their application.
Android people had a wee chat on telephone numbers in an email and copying and
dialling said number using talk back. The same command of double tap and hold
should have worked but this number didn't appear to be a link, when Ger did
this command it highlighted the email address. Ger did get access to the
number but he was curious was there another way.
The meeting ended.
