Subject: [fb-exchange] Cork Tech Notes Saturday April 1st
Welcome to our tech gathering on this Saturday the first of April. Today
we had nine participants. There was quite allot of precipitation throughout
Ireland this morning however, the sun was shining in our little gathering.
The group wants to wish Martin good luck for his tennis matches today.
Jackie kicked us all off with weirdness with her apple watch not charging.
The watch was updated recently and Jackie is blaming the update as this
issue suddenly happened after the update was installed. The cable was
changed, the outlet was changed, she prayed and cried and none of these
worked. Jackie got the watch charged yesterday after she put it on low power
mode. The group was baffled and just said buy a new watch. The ultra was
suggested however, Jackie said "the SE watch would do me fine". Jackie was
charging her watch during the meeting. regular battery updates will be
given throughout the notes.

Ken told us about a place called get tech that sells refurbished devices
like iPhones and apple watches.

Cearbhall told us about some weirdness with his iPhone which is a SE model.
What he was describing we all thought he was stuck in the app library.

Nvda is getting a new voice. its called Espeak and its used in chat GPT. To
find out what GPT means ask Alexa or Google they will tell you.

NVDA has also gotten a recent update. This is a security update however,
certain AddOn's won't work, AddOn's such as Clip Speak. Joanne said Clip
Speak had sent out a fix.
Ken updated his phone during this meeting to the latest IOS as Jackie's
watch issue intrigued him.

Stuart said the latest Revolut update has made it much more snappy. We spoke
about Revolut becoming an Irish bank. Members spoke on the fact they are
waiting for the Government to cash in on this.
Battery now at 85%.
Cearbhall told us about his new yoke for hearing. its called connect clip
and its by a company called oticon. Its an isolating microphone that
cuts out the background noise. This device can connect to hearing aids and
it can also work by connecting to the iPhone. Cearbhall can share further
about this device at Mondays meeting.It sounds very useful but Cearbhall
hasn't tested it to its full potential, he'll report back on it.

Jackie discovered this week where her camera was located on her Lenovo
laptop. just above the screen there is a little slider.
Battery now at 90%
Ger was asking about how he could take notes for us on a Saturday. We
suggested learning braille, using a dictaphone or use an external keyboard.
Ger was excited and we also sang Happy Birthday to his dog, the dog did not
like the quality of our singing.
Battery level 96%
Dominique spoke about the Irish voice in Alexa. Cearbhall reset his Alexa as
he wanted to try the Irish voice. The only way to get the Irish voice is to
reset your device. Dominique can explain further.
Battery level 99%
The meeting ended with talk of easter eggs.
All have a good Saturday and remember its April fools day. One part of my
notes was a joke.
