Hello Folks, from a so far dry and sunny south west Dublin.
After a transfer fee totaling over 1 million crypt coins, I have been
seconded to write the notes and drive the tech bus for the next few hours.
There were 10 Participants on board the bus, and we had two apologies.
First of all, Martin asked me to mention the Dundalk walking weekend which
takes place this year on June 14th.
Cearbhall was giving out, (nothing new here!), about the RTE app on his smart
phone.
When he wants to listen back or listen to a podcast, he has to endure about 3
minutes of advertising. This also annoys the minute taker, who once worked in
the advertising business.
This practice began some time ago, and first started on Newstalk radio.
Paul reported that a couple of days ago while checking his Bank of Ireland
accounts, he noticed that all the amounts were read out correctly as it once
was a few months ago, before somebody made changes which were not compliant
with screen readers and adaptive software packages.
This is great and Paul is a happy bunny, while Joanne is finding that her BOI
app is much worse, and not only that , but her husband a businessman is also
having great trouble with the same app.
Also her two fully sighted boys, are also finding difficulty with the app.
Ken is having great difficulties with his airpods (second generation)
He takes them out of the box and pairs them with his iPhone, then they
ping, and then nothing. Happens, and no sounds come on.
Ken gave a good lesson on patience and endevour as he did the following,
Unpaired the airpods form all other devices, made sure that automatic
discovery was enabled, but after an hour or so, of following good instructions
from Cearbhall/Stuart/ , he groaned but did not get the job done.
But persistent Ken then turned to the glamourous , vivacious Lady Jackie, who
brought Ken to the promised land.
They swappe their set ups for airpods and Jackie told him of her settings for
her airpods, whether the lid of the airpods box was open or shut, and went
through all her settings, and Ken then did the same settings as her, and low
and behold, the sounds came through his airpods from his smart phone.
Is there no end to Jackie’s talents !
Here is Apple’s way or instructions to repair your airpods.

The Dogged determination of Ken , in going through the settings for Bluetooth,
, disconnecting the airpods from all other devices in trying out all the many
solutions he was getting from all and sundry was fascinating.
Paul asked Ken when near the meetings end, if the airpods where still working?,
and he said yes in a very happy voice, well done Ken in sticking with the task.
Jackie said that Bluetooth can be a nuisance sometimes, on a recent trip to
her home county of the beautiful Donegal, while driving back she got a mee
Message that her laptop and airpods were left behind, but she remembered that
they were in the boot of the car.
As my driving of this tech bus is getting a little erratic, as rugby coverage
is getting a little closer, I have decided to park the bus till next week.
That’s all folks, have a great ST. Patrick’s day.
Paul from the real capitol of Ireland.
