Yes Cearbhall, that is correct but I'm not totally sure if tap and go is part
of the service in every type of outlet such as offices. It may well be.

Paul,
Is the tap and go machine?
The pin would be an issue over €30 is that right?
All the best,

Subject: [fb-exchange] Credit Card Machines
Hi all.
I put the below message out on the VICS and VIPS lists earlier today and have
discovered that my experience is not the only one. I have also had a positive
response from NCBI who are following up and I have made a suggestion as to how
we might next proceed. Anyway, here is my earlier message.
I was at my dentist this morning and when I tried to pay by credit card through
the usual method of inputting my PIN, I was presented with a touch screen
rather than the usual buttons, which, of course, is completely inaccessible to
those without sight. I was told that these are new versions and that they are
being rolled out all over the country.
If this is the case, I think that we should be protesting as it will put us at
a considerable disadvantage if they start to appear in shops, supermarkets and
other outlets.
Anyone else come across this?
Paul
