When I got the Soundscapes app, I set up an Apple UK account. I think Jackie
did the same. I will search my files and will mail you the steps to follow to
set up same.

I noted the reference to Microsoft Soundscapes at both meetings. I had
understood that ther app was not yet available in Ireland so I asked Siri to
do a search for it in the app store. It came up with no result and further
searches still yielded nothing.
Obviously, I am missing something as some of you have successfully
downloaded it.

Joe is a frequent user of Soundscapes for which he wears his After Shokz
bone conducting headset, which allows him to hear the environment around him
while keeping a wary ear on the SoundScapes advice. SoundScapes is produced
by Microsoft and is free.
Michael wondered how best to access his contacts in Outlook on the PC. Bert
discovered, recently, that control 3 opens the contacts function. Alt-v
enables changing the view between "People", "Business" and "card". He
advised that the "Card" setting is best for screen reader users.
Cearbhall uses Google as his search engine in Firefox. He finds it a
nuisance to have to step through four different tabs to find the "Agree"
button to accept Google cookies before the search will execute. Even though
he agrees every time Firefox is launched, Google always asks again for his
agreement with cookies. In contrast, He showed that he also uses Microsoft
Edge with Google as the default search engine. In this case, Google never
asks him to accept cookies. In demonstrating this during the meeting, Google
sought permission to use his location only once and never asked for that
permission in subsequent reopening of Edge.
Mary raised an interesting question of connecting Alexa to her old Bose
audio system so that Alexa could be heard in different rooms in the house.
After some discussion, Bert recommended using a phono lead to connect with
the audio input on her amplifier. Mary and John immediately got to work and
plugged in her old Apple connecting cable between Alexa and the input socket
on the amplifier and now Mary is delighted to have Alexa in all parts of the
house! Just shows you what can be achieved at the FB-Exchange club!
