Paul wanted to know , how to arrange his photographs in order of dates
taken, at the moment , the latest pictures are at the end, and the
oldes pictures are first when he goes into photos on his iPhone 7.
Cearbhall/Gerry/BBert said there is a setting for photos, where one
can change this to the latest picture first by date and continue in
descending order, rather like the way e mails appear on the inbox.
Paul also wanted to know to add text to the picture when forwarding a
photoe using Whats app, it seems there is no way to do this other than
sending the photoe, and sending another Whats app message describing
the photoe.
In order to send a photoe with text describing the picture , one must
go to the photos app, then select the photoe to be send, then go to
the edit field to caption the photoe.
Mary has a problem when opening her app, Shazam (which identifies a song
playing on the radio , but her phone does not call out the word
Shazam, but rather calls the app Mule!
Not really a problem but an irritation, and one wonders how this happens.
Bert suggested she go to accessability in settings then keyboard then
text replacement, and type in the word Shazam again.
Cearbhall told us of his conversation with 3 Network, where he is out
of contract , but complained about the charges of 30€ per
month, and low and behold , got a deal from them,
When threatening to leave of 20€ per month.
Kathleen is a new member using Windows 10, so welcome to Kathleen.
Joan is thinking of purchasing the new iPhone 12 , when it is launched
later in the year,
This phone will have 5th generation software enabling faster
downloads and so forth.
But she wanted to know if 5th generation was not available
everywhere in Ireland would her new phone work
With 4g. Declan assured her that it would work with whatever was
available at the time. .
There was an interesting discussion on 5g, and it was illustrated very
well by Gerry, using the analogy of a tree trunk and the branches, the
trunk would house the 5 generation but the branches would still be
using the same copper piping connexions as usual.
Martha discovered when replying to Ken Walshe e mail, that her reply
contained a load of Chinese characters instead of plain text, and was
of course unreadable.
But when she went to options in the menues and replied she sent a
perfect text which was fully readable.
Joe told us of a man called Brian Roderick,
A former RTE producer who will be on Nationwide on Thursday
(disability day), and could be very much worth viewing.
There was a short discussion on the useof the free list for our
mailing discussions, and Albert thought that it might be a good idear
to change to a more modern form of mailing list, and Cearbhall is
going to investigate the options.
