Somebody mentioned at the beginning that Compu B had gone into administration
.
They have an outlet in Grafton Street and dealt with all Apple products.
Cearbhall said that it was handy for going into and trying out a few products,
but thought it was very dear.
There was a question from Mary Lavelle, who tried to save the Brendan
O'Connor show on RTE 1 TO HER LIBRARY in her Podcast app folder, but she
could not save it,
Cearbhall/Paul, said that she must subscribe to the podcast for that show,
later during our meeting,
Mary managed to find a link to subscribe to the show.
Many people are confused when confronted with the word Subscribe here to
listen/read.
For most items in the world of computers /apps/e mail sites, the word
subscribe really means Register to listen or read for free.
But in some instances like subscribing to get an e paper like the Digitel
edition of the Irish Times
Or the Irish Indepent newspaper the word subscribe will involve a money
subscription and they will tell you about their various offers, like monthly or
yearly paid subscriptions.
Annette asked Is it possible to send 4 photographs all at the one time?
Annette uses Whats app, Jackie has sent 12 photoe's
All at the one time.
Go to Media add Image and select your photo, then go
To the next picture and double tap to select do the same wwith the next
two photographs then click done.
Joe Murphy wanted to know if Borrowbox would have any books different from
those available tin the Amazon Audible library, especially books of an Irish
background.
Mary pointed out that these were two completely different libraries, and he
would find some different books in the Borrowbox library,
As it had bookds from the public irish libraries, and would surely have what
he was looking for,
Mary said he could join Borrowbox online, or Eamonn said that he could get the
app from the app store, he would need to furnish an e mail address, and a card
number showing membership of an Irish library, it is a long number, and the
last four digits are his password.
John Chambers also told us that he got great help in joining Borrowbox from his
local library.
Joe also had an e mail with a lot of attachments and wanted to know if voice
dream reader could read J Pegs,
Declan said no but perhaps the Voice Dream reader scanner could do it,
Joe also has the scanner and will try it out on the j pegs.
Mary wanted to know if all those images and videos shared on Whats app that
finish up in the photo library, could be deleted in one go?
Cearbhall said no, that this was not possible.
Tom wanted to play Newstalk on his Google device, but it would not play,
He was instructed by Eamonn/Paul to say play newstalk 106 from tune in radio.
Also somebody wanted Alexa to play classic fm in England but it would not play,
But when you say play classic fm from global , then she would play the correct
station.
Somebody wanted to know what was SIRI,? Paul said that it was the artificial
voice assistant for all ios products(apple),
And most android used the Google assistant as their artificial voice help. .
Paul shared the delights of the Daily Connection puzzle from Alexa,
And also asked a question which Monique answered in very quick time, well
done Monique
