Apologies received
Ken reported back on his issue with emails showing up again in his inbox.
Last week Ken was told to turn off follow up mode and he thought his problem
was sorted. This week the same thing was happening. It doesn't happen on the
iPad as this is still running IOS15. The mistery continues. Cearbhall has
posted information on this feature.
Pat and Jackie spoke about a focus issue on their mail apps. The issue is
the text of one email is showing in the body of another. We are unclear of
what this looks visually.
Derry told us a product called Smart Vision3. This will be discussed on a
webbing hour with child vision and sight and sound.
Jackie told us a further update on her Bank of Ireland complaint. They
have removed Strong customer authentication from her account and have given
her assurances in writing that its the bank taking the risk. They will take
responsibility should something happen. Jackie advices anyone that wishes to
get it removed to get the assurance in writing before proceeding with its
removal. They also asked her for a contact from a person in NCBI so this was
forwarded. So it will be interesting will they contact the NCBI.
Ken asked did anyone listen to the sample aI voices that Cearbhall posted
to the mailing list about audio books. There were mixed reviews on using
these voices.
Cearbhall was attempting to listen to radio shows on the RTE radio player.
Cearbhall said things look to be in columns. He was unable to access radio
shows. Several members said to go to settings, accessibility and turn on
navigate by columns and rows. Other suggestions were that he could listen to
the playback on Apple Podcasts.
Jackie told us about slapping her echo dot5. This has a purpose and not the
abuse of technology. slapping the 5thGen stops and starts the previous audio.
Ken mention that he has recently purchased a fifth generation for his mum at
a reduced price of £35. Down from £62 on Amazon.
A discussion around earphones happened wired verses bluetooth and in ear
verses over ear.
Its agreed its each to his own with these.
Stuart mentioned when in Safari. Sometimes you can go straight to the app
from the Safari page. If you don’t want to open up the app. Do a one finger
double tap and hold on the second tap. this will prevent opening up the app.
Derry asked could he do a soft reset using Siri. He was also told. He could
power off his phone using Siri as well.
Martin and Martha both said that the customer information desk in Houston
is now closed on Sundays. However they both agreed that the security staff
are extremely helpful and are always around.
Pat told us about a Travel Assistance Scheme in Cork City. This will assist
with any customer who would like help in using Cork city buses and Iarnród
Éireann commuter trains. The aim is to help their customers to travel
independently. The Travel Assistance Scheme is free and is aimed at people
aged 18 and over. It can be used Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
Telephone LoCall 0818 836 611 (tel:0818836611)
The phone lines are open 07.00 – 19.00 Monday to Friday,
and 08.00 – 18.00 Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays.
