Cearbhall,

if the machine has at least 16 GB RAM, and at least a 5th-generation CPU to cope with the load, there is a way to bypass Windows 11 hardware check and update to Windows 11. I'm in the same situation where I can't update but I didn't force it though, because I don't see any real reason to do it for the moment - either this way or by getting a compatibe PC...

Ken said if someone new emails him the email address saves into his phone contact. Dominique said the same thing happens to her when she emails from her computer they save into her contacts on her phone. They used to just save on the computer. We discovered there is an iCloud and all contacts.

Jackie was saying about a connection issue during the week with Alexa and her Eufy Robotic Vacuum cleaner. When she asked Alexa to start cleaning.Alexa would say "an internal error has occurred contact Eufy customer support" The hoover could be controlled with the app and google devices. This issue did correct itself yesterday. Jackie also said her male voices echo products won't send James out but the devices for the females voices works.

 

Paul asked Alexa to switch on his main light. Alexa  asked him would he like to switch the light off after 10 minutes.  Paul said yes and the lights didn't go off after the required time.  Paul repeated the step to no success. 

 

Adrian reminded us all that Gmail  is ending basic HTML this weekend. people will be using the standard view but the shortcuts will work on this version as well.

 

Adrian has sent an email to the List with complete shortcuts.

The group  also spoke about different mail clients. Such as mail on the computer, outlook and thunderbird.

Cearbhall asked about updating to windows11 dominique and Jackie are both using it and liking it. Adrian says he's still using Windows10. Dominique said go to PC help to check if Windows 11 is suitable for their particular machine.

The group  all spoke about using siri.We all believe not to rely on siri for everything.

Ger reported  his work around on his android phone ringing his dad.  ger  just simply says  ok G phone dad.  Before his phone would ring his dad on WhatsApp.

 

We spoke in detail    about team viewer and quick assist. AnyDesk is another remote access  client this also works  on the phone. Here is the link.

A conversation happened over using the Mac and windows. We spoke about the different versions of windows. Like windows 95, 98, XP, windows vista etc.


Jackie gave her update on loosing all her navilens codes. Jackie's sister downloaded the Navilens app.She signed into Jackie's account. So this enabled Jackie's sister to do all the codes and then this was on Jackie's account.

 

Dominique reported that a staff  member from the labs helpdesk team.  Re-download zoom and sort all the Zoom settings.

 

Jackie and Cearbhall reported the edit feels are now are editable again on the habel one.

 

Paul asked how to get Alexa to play the Ryan Tubridy show on virgin Radio. Martin said Alexa play Play virgin UK.
