Paul started us off talking about his new iPhone13. Jackie has been helping
him with it after dark.
a conversation happened around the iPhone SE,3 and issues that have occurred
with this phone. Pat and Paul have both experienced various issues while
Dominique only faced one problem where she had to Connect it to her
computer. This sorted it out.
Pat came into today’s meeting under his display name IPhone. Stuart said you
can change this by going to the zoom app and by signing in with Google or
Apple. Once Pat does this once it will register his display name.
Dominique gave us an update on her iCloud issue whereby she couldn't backup
to the cloud. Dominique updated her phone to the latest software update and
this actually fixed her issue, When Marco from Apple contacted her he was
going to suggest to update.
Martin has an iPhone8 and he was asking can he just leave the phone without
updating. People said yes he could but he could be haunted by apple to
update.
Emoji were discussed and the different methods of adding them to messages
and posts. Dominique said that you can now dictate emoji so this was
tried and it was partly successful.Jackie received quite a few strange
messages from different members. We can thank Shigetaka Kurita for the
emojis if not for him we wouldn't have 💩
Jackie said about a bug on facebook in that you can no longer swipe down on
a post and like, react, comment or share. A person now needs to go into the
post to react. It has been reported to facebook but seems they are slow at
fixing things Jackie ain't holding her breath.
Cearbhall was saying its cracking him up on his phone locking and then he
needs to enter the passcode. Jackie said take audo lock off. Cearbhall went
into touch and passcode first but it was telling him his passcode was wrong.
We realised then he was going into the wrong place. Jackie said it was in
battery and Dominique said display and brightness. Cearbhall wen into
battery and changed it to never. Jackie checked in display and brightness
and it was in there as well.
When Cearbhall entered his password wrong it gave a warning. This got Chris
pondering on what would happen if you entered your pin wrong a few times.
Chris was told the phone would lock for a short period but if you enter it
wrong 10 times and you have a setting on.Then the phone would be wiped. We
all remembered the PUK code with the older phones.
Chris also asked about the hints and he wanted them off. Stuart said about
the rotor and Dominique said to go into the verbosity settings in
accessibility and voiceover. Chris turned it off and he was happy.
Martin told us there is a half price sale on Amazon at the moment for fire
tablets.
The meeting ended.
All The Best,
