In attendance, Ken Walsh, Derry Walsh, Chris Egan, Noreen Meagher, Jackie
McBrearty, Stuart Haxell, Cearbhall O'Meadhra, Martin Kelly, Pat McCarthy,
Martha Parkinson, Paul Griffith.
Paul told us how amazing Jackie is. He told us about having an issue with his
sound while on a call regardless if loud speaker was on. she sorted him out by
telling him to press the volume up button while on the call. It worked
perfectly for him.
Paul also told us about his granddaughter enjoys pressing the home button on
his phone. Jackie told him he would need to be careful encase she accidentally
rings emergency services. This started a conversation on the process you must
do if you can’t cancel the call in time. Jackie and a few others have this
feature switched off.
Cearbhall then was telling us about an issue with his landline where emergency
services got called by accident. Cearbhall asked us all had we ever heard of
Open office in windows. A few people said it is difficult and messy to use
with a screen reader.
Stuart told us about an new app that automatically accepts cookies. Jackie also
downloaded this app and she is very pleased. The app is called super agent.
Stuart has posted the link to the list.
Cearbhall had no success registering for the phone package 48. Finally
Cearbhall's son had it done. This started a conversation about the different
networks and who piggy backs on which network.
Martin was asking about Imersive reader.Pat had heard about it on IOS and our
tech genius Cearbhall has posted information to the list about it.
Paul has an iPhone7 and he's getting promted to download the latest version of
IOS15. Ken and Jackie both advised him to not update as it could cause more
problems. Derry asked was it safe to update to IOS.14.8 we all said yes as this
is a security update and its important
Paul is getting on great taking photos. the next challenge is taking a selfie.
Paul needs to flick the camera to front facing.
The focus mode was brought up on the call log on IOS15. This causes the wrong
person to be called when using the recents calls on the phone app.
Martha said she uses outlook on her iPhone8 and running IOS14.8 and she is
having focus issues as well. Jackie was asking about a zoom meeting and using
the screen curtain. Chris and Ken tried it out and the person could still be
seen regardless of screen curtain being on or off. When the screen curtain was
on the other participants could not bee seen.
Chris was asking about the pages app. When he copies a paragraph onto a new
sheet and then he adds to that.When he goes to send the document it does not
send it.
