Dominique was talking about her new echo 5th Generation.This 5th generation can
tell you the in door temperature. This sold it to Jackie. So she will be adding
to her family of 14 just for this feature. As she has the air to water system
and she'd like to know how hot her house is. The only question how many will
she buy?. So roll on Black Friday on November 25th.
We all had a go with our 3rd, 4th and echo shows but currently this feature is
not supported on these devices.
Jackie warned if anyone is thinking about purchasing an Alexa online for a
friend. Make sure you select buy as a gift. Otherwise more than likely it
would be linked to ones own account. The conversation started with IOS bugs
mispronunciation of words and notifications not being announced. Jackie also
said she is getting double weather alerts. We all hope these bugs get worked
out in new updates.
Jackie was saying about using Webex for the first time, she got some help from
King Cearbhall to set up meetings. Martha was saying she rathers the app on the
iPhone. Jackie still rathers Zoom, then teams then webex.
We talked about the gobbledygook messages on the Email list. There was allot
of talking on this issue but lost the plot and nothing more went in. Cearbhall
may explain further on this issue.
Jackie was asking about her audible app. Since the latest update voiceover will
no longer read her titles in the home tab. This the area of your wish list,
recents and recommended for you. Jackie is going to delete the app and see does
that fix it. As she tried simply logging out but this didn't work. Currently on
her app it says "Display book details"
Ken and Stuart checked there apps and theres were ok.they were all on the same
Audible version.
A conversation happened around JAWS with Martha saying how JAWS at times turns
off while she's working. Ken and Stuart said about using Narrator. The short
cut to turn this on and off is Control, Windows and enter.
Then we talked about other screen readers like Hal . Both Jackie and Martha
used this one in the early days. Great fun was had trying to pronounce the
company that does JAWS along with other assistive technology. I was challenged
to find its name so here we go: Vispero. spelt V i s p e r o.
This is what it stands for . Vispero combines two Latin words:, Visio means

Derry said that Vodafone offered him an iPhone 11 for €30 a month with a
contract.
Ken mentioned that the RTÉ player is after getting worse to use on his eyePad.
However during today’s meeting it was suggested that he should try it on his
iPhone. Ken tryed this and didn’t seem as tricky to use on his phone compare
to the iPad.
