In attendance, 12 participants.
Firstly, Declan wished to thank people for his gifts. He was very grateful
for them and the chocolates were a good support to him for some long
meetings.
We all wished him good luck on his new venture. He promised he wouldn't
loose touch with the groups.
Pat was eaten by a Panda. Only participants that were present will
understand.
Declan and Emily Giles were on talking about the up and coming workshop.
Which takes place on zoom on July 28th.
E-textiles, otherwise known as electronic textiles. Is a field which
combines together conductive threads, made of silver or steel, with
electronics such as small circuit boards. From these you can create
interactive objects. These can light up, make sound, vibrate or move.
Declan will send out information on how to register. There will be kits
posted out closer to the event.
Jackie was telling us about using soundscape and how she wasn't impressed,
she was on with her sister but she couldn't hear the soundscape voice, so
she needed to end her call until she found where she was. in theory she was
at the right spot so it worked. Jackie said she really needed soundscape as
she needed to hear the direction of shops and streets. it was just
disappointing she had to end her call to hear the voice this doesn't happen
with Blindsquare. It was suggested she look at settings like audio ducking.
Ken spoke further on his NVDA issue and zoom. There is still no real answer
but Ken is not able to hear NVDA while using his aftershokz in a zoom
meeting. Jackie also had the same experience when she tried her aftershokz
on her laptop.
Paudi asked people's opinions on getting aftershokz. He got a mixed bag of
advice. Jackie said she finds them good for walking and talking.Chris said
he finds them useless for this purpose. everyone agreed they are quite bad
on teams and zoom meetings when either using an iPad or iPhone.Ken and
Jackie both said the battery was very good.
Jackie spoke about ringing the linked in support on be my eyes. She wasn't
overly happy with the outcome, she was none the wiser when she came off the
call.
A conversation started about linked in and the point of having a profile.
Ken and Paul were talking about games on Alexa. They both lost all their
points on the question of the day. Paul said he got an apology about an
error and all his points were restored. Ken tried his again and all his
points were also restored.
The meeting ended.
All The Best,
Ken
