Jackie asked Cearbhall about changing settings on NVDA, she asked him about
changing speaking rate. he said press NVDA key control and V, tab around for
speaking rate and increase or decrease it, then press enter, to save the
setting do NVDA key, control and C to save the configuration.
Pressing the NDVA key and N opens NVDA settings. Then to load NVDA press
alt control N to turn on NVDA.
Paul told Jackie to typwinver to check what windows version she has. Jackie
and Paul were talking during the week about this.
Ken had a strange issue with sending mail. When he tried sending an email to
someone that wasn't in his contacts or the recents the send button was
dimmed. Many people asked him was there something in the subject line.
Dominique said she double taps on the to feild, the subject line and then
the edit field. then she can send the email.
Stuart attempted to send an email to a pretend person and his send button
was dimmed, when he went back into the email afterwards he could send it
then.
Clare said she always has issues even replying to emails. We couldnt give a
definite answer as its suchh a random bug.
Ken wanted Alexa to say less when he wanted his lights on and off. So
Dominique said about brief mode. Ken asked Alexa to enable brief mode and
this worked.
Derry was saying he has always used a desktop , he was asking about using a
laptop. a number of people said get a laptop and just get an extendable
external keyboard. Jackie and others aren't fans of using the laptop
keyboard. Typing is ok but finding other buttons can be allot slower than
using a standard computer keyboard.
BumpOn's got suggested for problem keys. Dominique is also pondering a
laptop as she has always used a desktop as well.
Paul was asking Ken about his smart bulbs and plug. Paul is really liking
his. he just doesn't know the shelf life of these bulbs.
Dominique told us about her smart gloves she got in H&M. These gloves can be
kept on while Dominique is using hher phone and watch. The gloves cost €6.
A conversation started about using various gadgets when out and about. There
was some funny stories with personal experiences with members of the general
public.
Then various conversations happened around working from home and the
different security features that are on the laptops.
Martha Said the layout of Audible had slightly changed, when she logs into
the book club account, some of her titles on her account appear in all
titles on the Club account. No one really could give an explanation for this.
Derry mentioned that N,C,B,I has recently set up a jobs club in Cork for
people seeking employment.
