In attendance Derry Walsh, Ken Walsh, Pat Walsh, Chris Egan, Pat McCarthy,
Martha Parkinson, Cearbhall O Meadhra and Ronan McGuirk on speakerphone.
Cearbhall and the group chatted how the members of the group found out about
fighting blindness first day.
This led on to the group on how they could target new members to come along
to the technology group and the support group et cetera.
all the members felt they should be a brochure with all of the supports that
fighting blindness provide. Some ideas included leaving brochures at the
reception desk of ophthalmology doctors et cetera.
Ronan told Cearbhall and the group about he was involved in the setting up of
the program e speak. he uses this for his job. this involves translating
emails from Irish into English.
Ronan uses a laptop with windows 7 with N V D A. He also uses an Iphone for
every day tasks.
Derry told the group that he is getting his new Iphone 6s from Tesco
tomorrow. He wanted to find out on how to get his old Iphone unblocked. Pat
McCarthy told him on how to go about this.
Pat Walsh and some of the members shared their own experiences with Ronan on
the app Seeing a i.
Chris chatted to the group about Ken and himself tried out a Skype call
during the week. Ken was not impressed with the Skype app on his Ipad. As
Ken’s Ipad was frozen for a while. Voiceover crashed for Ken and he had a
job to get it to work again.
Pat McCarthy led a chat on the product feature on the seeing a i app.
The group gave a blast of happy birthday to Martha for her birthday today.
Chris was celebrating 39 years married today.
Thanks to everyone that made todays meeting. We didn't have such a large turn
out in a long time.
