Derry welcomed Chris to the group and thanked him for coming along to his first
meeting.
Pat invested in a IPhone s e and wanted to find out how to turn on voiceover
for the first time. Cearbhall told Pat on how to do this.
Cearbhall thought it might be worth Chris knowing how to use voiceover on his
IPhone 5 s in the future.
First of all Ken showed Chris on how to turn on voiceover for the very first
time using Siri.
Chrisâs IPhone wouldn't leave Ken turn on voiceover using Siri.
After Cearbhall and Ken explored many options. Cearbhall felt maybe Ken should
do a reset to Chrisâs IPhone. Once the reset was done Ken was able to turn on
voiceover using Siri.
Chrisâs battery did not seem to last for long. Ken found a load of apps open
and showed him on how to close them.
Marta showed Pat on how to check himself into the library on Facebook.
Ken gave Chris a brief demonstration of voiceover on his IPhone and a few
simple commands on how to Navigate around the screen.
The issue of battery life of peoples IPhones came up. Cearbhall advised only
have the notifications on that you want to receive during the day. Facebook
uses a large percentage of your battery.
Marta asked the group when the covers of their IPhones were closed did their
audio book start playing in their bags from where they paused their books
. Cearbhall felt they might be a bump on the flap of the case and this might
cause the book to start to play. if the phone got one or two bumps in her bag.
Cearbhall gave Chris the instructions on how to sign up to the mailing list to
receive the minutes of every meeting.
