In attendance Derry Walsh, Ken Walsh, Martha Parkinson, Chris Egan , Noreen
Meagher, Jackie Mc Brearty, Cearbhall O Meadhra and Gavin Allman.
The Group welcomed Gavin to his first meeting.
Todays meeting was held virtually using the Messenger app.
However Derry came in on FaceTime as he is having some technical difficulties
getting set up with messenger.
Hopefully we will have this sorted for him by the next meeting.
All the participants agreed the quality of the group call was excellent.
Ken, Chris and Cearbhall informed the group on how they got on Setting up and
using the Zoom app.
This led Jackie saying she was off to download the Zoom app.
Gavin wanted to find out was there any good navigation apps. Several members
told him try Google Maps, blind Square and moovit.
Gavin wanted to find out on how to sign up to The iPhone newbees mailing list.
Jackie is going to help with this.
Martha created a WhatsApp group during the week. She said she didnât
encounter any problems creating the group.
This led onto Derry telling the group he is taking part in a WhatsApp group
table quiz during the week.
Jackie informed the group she plays word puzzle games with Alexa.
Jackie has started to do her weekly shop online. She said the Tesco app and
similar online shopping apps are very accessible.
A big thanks to Jackie for making a suggestion to try messenger out for
todayâs meeting. Also for helping me test it out with other people.
She informed the group you can have 12 participants on a messenger group call.
