The three Android users discussed the choice of Android phones. Bob described
his tiny Jellybean phone which is small enough to be used with one hand. Bob
and Cearbhall reported that they get a good deal of useful info on Android from
the discussion list: eyes-free@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
Paul and Sean found that the remote connection with the Dublin group was very
effective by Facetime. They plan to use the cross-platform WhatsApp Messenger
so that a few more local people can join in with any phone from their own homes
in the Kilkenny area.
John pointed out that the facsimile summary of an article in the Irish Times
app on his Android phone did not lead to the full article that should have
appeared. He has experienced this frequently over the past year and would like
confirmation from other Irish Times app users on either the Android or iPhone.
Mary had a problem with managing group lists under Contacts. The app no longer
shows the contact information for members already assigned to a group. This
needs a bit more investigation. She also pointed out that BorrowBox fails to
speak all the titles that show graphically in the library listing when
searching for a book. Cearbhall will report this to Bolinda and report back.
