Rock/folk fiddler Steve Wickham of The Waterboys, joins actor Karl Quinn =
to playfully explore our recent experiences; combining classical, folk =
and rock on fiddle, viola, concertina, and a didgeridoo -played like =
never before! The show ends a national tour with performances at The =
Civic Tallaght on Fri 4 and Sat 5 Feb at 8pm
We've all been holding our breath, but this is the story of one man, for =
whom the family working and studying at home, is building up the =
pressure.... along with the sanitising, news overload, and work Zooms... =
He's trying to hold it together with online yoga, home baking, and =
dancing in the kitchen... but one sneeze could blow it all apart! =
Carpet Theatre=E2=80=99s Breath is infused with the joy of music, and =
the whisper of hope, as we try to catch our breath together.
Steve Wickham has played with the greats of Irish rock (U2, Sin=C3=A9ad =
O=E2=80=99Connor), with world music band No Crows, and has toured the =
world with The Waterboys since the 1980=E2=80=99s. He recently released =
his second solo album The Beekeeper (2017). He has composed and =
performed music for film and theatre, and previously worked with =
director Ciar=C3=A1n Taylor and Carpet Theatre actor Karl Quinn on =
Pigeon, and the site-specific Wexford Firestation Tour.
Carpet Theatre have been touring at home and abroad with lively =
explorations of Irish life since 2004; including the hit satirical =
shopping comedy The Blanch, and The Flood a multi-sensory play in the =
dark which performed at The Civic Theatre in 2017.

The production is supported by the Bank of Ireland Begin Together Arts =
Fund in partnership with Business to Arts. The fund supports artistic =
responses to the Covid crisis in each county of Ireland. The development =
of the piece was funded by the Arts Council, with support from The Glens =
Centre, Manorhamilton, Hawk=E2=80=99s Well, Axis, Ballymun, and Fringe =
Lab.

long time! Actor playing multiple parts kept the interest up.=E2=80=99
=E2=80=98Lot=E2=80=99s of parts were hilarious. Loved how it followed =
all the stages of the last while.=E2=80=99
=E2=80=98Brilliant, very inventive visually. Happy and deep all at once. =
