Please see the details of NCBI's response to our recent enquiry regarding the
discontinuation of the Soundscape app by Microsoft:
As you know, the Soundscape research project recently reached its conclusion
and the project code has now been released as open-source software. NCBI is
delighted to have joined forces with a newly formed Consortium in order to
provide continuity of service for existing app users and take Soundscape
forward in what is a new era for the app.
By leading out on the future development of Soundscape, NCBI hopes to provide
more opportunities for people who are blind or vision impaired to have access
to the app and to be empowered to explore the world around them.
