Cearbhall,
Yes a very useful device for some certainly but for me although I could
thankfully raise the cash it frankly would not be worth the price tag
not at all.
Fortunately I do generally keep in a straight enough line well enough
that going off slightly in direction hasn't been the cause of anything
alarming I'm glad to say.
No you are a man for a puzzle I gather!
The bocx of tricks is on your right side as I remember it from the
podcast so how would a person right-handed manage when using the cane it
would be awkward.
I wonder what would be the result of having the box on the left side
would that upset things North South and so on?
It doesnothing for obstacle recognition so after forking out about €2300
you must hand out more for a Suno band.
The Navi has an app with GPS which Lazarilo or Blind Square would do
equally well.
Just thinking that it would be a wonderful addition for deaf-blind folk.
Wishing anyone who buys one well with it, it's a a step in the right
direction if only it was cheaper.

It is a very interesting chat. Various other devices were mentioned,
particularly the Buzz clip and the Sunu band. Both of these are obstacle
detectors and would complement the belt if you could afford an outlay of some
€2,600!
All the best,
Cearbhall
