Irish people check their phones on average 50 times a day - down from 55
times a day last year - according to a survey by Deloitte.
The study found that women check their phones 54 times a day on average,
while men do so an average of 46 times daily.
While many people use their phone alarm to wake them in the morning, 32% of
respondents reported checking their phone within five minutes of waking for
purposes other than silencing the alarm.
Four percent of people admitted checking their phone over 200 times a day on
average, while two-thirds of people said they are trying to limit their
smartphone use.
