Cearbhall highlighted the problem , about sending out two mails for
the Cork meeting on 16th January.
He normally goes to the previous meeting notes, and removes the copy,
then pastes in the new meeting copy, but this time a number of people
like Paul/Jackie, got a message from the previous weeks meeting rather
then the current notes.
Paul contacted Cearbhall about this, and he contacted the organiser of the
free lists (John Madden, who was migrating the mail at that moment,
but this had nothing to do with the problem.
Cearbhall has promised to do the notes from the beginning next week,
rather than use his short cut method.
Martin updated us regarding his Eir com e mailing address for his
phone, it seems that all he had to do was to add his eircom mailing
address to his smart phone, you can have a number of e mailing
addresses on your mobile phone.
There was a problem in co hosting the meeting this morning, so a
small course will be done by a number of people with Declan this
afternoon, to train some people in the art of co hosting a Zoom meeting.
Also the ringing bell only rang when the person was admitted into
the meeting, and did not go off while they were in the waiting room.
There was a good discussion on short cuts for Outlook 365,
These were control plus letter y for the various folders, and shift plus
f6 to go up and down the folders.
Control plus number 1 for mails. Control plus number 2 for using the
calendar and
Control plus number 3 for your contacts.
One can also customise your mails by using the jaws key plus f2 , and
then you can get rid off useless information like the size of the
mail, and other irritating information.
Mary cannot get radio stations like BBC radio 4 using SIRI,. Siri
SAYS I cannot play that station. She tried again using different
instructions like Siri play bbc 4 from tune in, but no matter what she
tried , Siri, would not play the station.
Perhaps after Brexit, some stations have been removed, or it's a bug
from recent ios updates.
Some people are going to look into Mary's problems.
Bert tried using Siri, and Siri, said that his Tune in settings
needed to be updated, and did he wanted them updated?
Bert said yes, and then asked Siri to play bbc radio 4 and it indeed
played the station.
Several people complained about getting Alexa to play RTE radio 1,
you say alexa play rte radio 1, and repeat the instructions for
several minutes before it starts to play,
While other radio stations play immediately on asking Alexa.
Noreen also complained about asking Alexa to stop playing, but her
instructions are ignored for a long time before ALEXA stops playing.
It could be that the WIFI systems are overloaded at present due to
the pandemic. .
Cearbhall has trouble in using Safari browser on his iPhone 7. Bert
suggested he opens safari, and go down to the bottom right, and when
he hears tabs, to double tap the tabs and this will clear his recent
history, and leave a clean space to enter the text for what he is looking
for, like ground rents.
Eamon cleaned up his icons and put them into a folder. But when he
tried to delete the icons from his desktop they would not delete.
Cearbhall said that these icons were only short cuts and not the real
files, so he must go to the short cuts folders to delete the icons.
Martha explained that if one has credits from audible,
one can ask Alexa to order a book of their choice. She can do this and
place the book into your library,
And you can listen to your new book on your smart phone or through
using Alexa.
