[fb-exchange] Meeting 9th September

Discussions:
It was a varied discussion group with the welcome additions of Mejella, Carol
and John who brought a differing view on technology from their own perspective
and shared their own experience with us and their own preferred equipment to
use.
Mejella uses an iPad and demonstrated how she uses it with magnification
software as opposed to the regular Jaws and NVDA users. She also posed the
question, "LAPTOP or iPad, which is your preference to use?
iTapsy was also discussed. This is an app that takes photos with your iPhone
and enables people to know what object it is. This is extremely beneficial to
a person with no sight to determine different objects and know their name etc.
Gerry would like to personally extend his heartfelt appreciation to Bert for
assisting and enabling him to download iClick which he finds most useful.
Dominique wanted to know how to change Jaws announcement of numbers from pairs
of numbers, whole numbers or digits. Digits is her preferred way when hearing
scores red out for Dublin and Leinster scores on RTÉ's Sport pages and all
other Websites. Bert kindly provided instructions on how this is achieved.
What a very productive and most enjoyable session was enjoyed by all.
