The answer seems to be that you need to open settings in zoom.
To get to settings, you need to be signed in to Zoom. Then the settings
button is available on the sign-in screen.
Tab down to "General" which shows as the first item on a drop down list.
Arrow down the list of categories to Audio and press enter to select it.
Tab to "If you cannot hear the test sound, select a different speaker" and
press enter. Arrow through the two options and select "Same as
System(Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio))"
I think that should cure the poblem.
