Almost half of Irish people say they have experimented with artificial
intelligence (AI) or use it regularly for personal use, according to a new
survey.
The research has been released by Dye & Durham, which provides practice
management solutions to legal professionals.
The survey of 1,001 adults in Ireland, which was conducted by YouGov, shows
that while Irish people are embracing AI in their personal lives, they are
more hesitant to use it in their professional lives.
35% of respondents said they have experimented with or regularly use AI for
professional reasons while the remaining 65% said they have never used AI
for professional use.
More than three quarters of Irish workers said technology plays an important
or critical role in their day-to-day work, while nearly half said they
expect AI to become important to the way they do their jobs in the next five
years.
"We're seeing an interesting adoption pattern when it comes to emerging
technologies in Ireland," said David Nash, Chief Product Officer at Dye &
Durham.
"When it comes to AI, for example, there is broad recognition of its impact
on the way we do our jobs, but people are taking an incremental approach to
using it themselves, especially for professional purposes," Mr Nash said.
